About DocumentJet

Built by people who have carried other people’s documents around the world for a living

DocumentJet is a 24/7 international passport and document delivery service operated by FLYTRIX Americas LLC. A dedicated flight courier collects your document, travels with it on a scheduled passenger flight and hands it over at the destination. The company behind it has done exactly that, for industrial and medical shipments, for years.

Some documents cannot wait, and cannot be emailed

A passport in the wrong country while its owner stands at a check-in desk. A wet-ink signature page needed at a closing tomorrow morning. A court filing due in another jurisdiction. An apostilled birth certificate a registry will only accept in the original. These are small envelopes with very large consequences, and the express networks were never designed for them: a passport in a sorting hub is just another parcel, and a two-day estimate is only an estimate.

The time-critical logistics industry solved this problem decades ago for a different kind of cargo. When a grounded aircraft needs a part or a hospital needs a sample, a person is booked on the next flight and carries it in their hand luggage. The industry calls them on-board couriers. DocumentJet takes that same service, the same couriers and the same 24/7 Operations Center, and makes it bookable online for a passport or a stack of paper, by anyone, at any hour.

Adrian Kaesberg

Founder & CEO, FLYTRIX

Built by someone who has done the job himself

Before founding FLYTRIX, Adrian Kaesberg spent six years working full-time as an on-board courier. He completed hundreds of time-critical missions in more than 50 countries and, in his busiest years, took over 300 flights a year. The shipments ranged from aircraft parts and manufacturing components to medical material and the occasional delivery that fits no category at all.

That is where the operating rules of DocumentJet come from: the document never leaves the courier’s hands, it never goes into checked baggage, and someone at our 24/7 Operations Center is awake and watching the flight. None of that was designed in a meeting. It is what you learn to insist on after enough nights in enough terminals.

Adrian also has a software background and built the platform FLYTRIX uses to run its time-critical operations. DocumentJet’s instant pricing and booking sit on top of it.

DocumentJet by FLYTRIX

Backed by an established time-critical logistics operation

DocumentJet is not a startup with a payment form. It is a product of FLYTRIX, a time-critical logistics company that moves urgent shipments for freight forwarders from offices in the United States and Germany. When you book, the same couriers and the same 24/7 Operations Center that handle those shipments handle yours.

More about FLYTRIX
1,000+ experienced couriers
Positioned around major airports on six continents. For DocumentJet we assign only couriers with prior on-board courier experience.
24/7 operations, every day of the year
A person answers the phone at 3 am on a public holiday and can tell you where the courier is. English, German, Spanish, Italian and French.
IATA-accredited airline ticketing
FLYTRIX runs an IATA-accredited travel agency built for courier flights, so a seat on the next departure is booked in minutes, not negotiated.
United States and Europe
FLYTRIX Americas LLC in El Segundo, California, and FLYTRIX EMEA GmbH in Rosenheim, Germany. Operations run across both time zones.

Your document does not travel through a network. A person travels with it.

This is the whole difference, and it explains both the speed and the price.

International express mail

  1. 1Envelope handed to a driver with a van full of other envelopes
  2. 2Sorted by machine at a regional hub
  3. 3Consolidated into a container and flown as cargo
  4. 4Sorted again at the destination hub
  5. 5Out for delivery on a route, with a scan when it is dropped

DocumentJet

  1. 1Our flight courier collects the document from the sender’s hand
  2. 2It goes into their carry-on and stays with them through security
  3. 3They fly with it as a passenger on a scheduled flight
  4. 4They hand it to the person you named and record who took it

Technology quotes the price. People confirm the booking.

The price and the pickup and delivery windows you see are calculated in usually less than a second from real flight schedules and the current position of our couriers. That part is software, and it is why you do not need to call anyone to find out whether a route works.

Everything after you press “book” is a person. An operations specialist looks at your booking, chooses the courier, books the flights and confirms the plan to you, normally within about 30 minutes. Your card is charged only at that moment. If the plan would arrive later or cost more than the quote, you are asked first. If a flight is cancelled at midnight, the same desk rebooks the courier and calls you. We built the software so that the people can spend their time on exactly those decisions.
