About DocumentJet

What is DocumentJet?

DocumentJet is an international express delivery service for urgent documents such as passports, visas, court documents, contracts and other important paperwork. Unlike traditional express carriers, DocumentJet uses dedicated flight couriers. A real person collects your document, travels with it on a commercial passenger flight and personally escorts it toward its destination. Your shipment is monitored individually by both the flight courier and our 24/7 Operations Center from pickup through delivery.

Is DocumentJet a legitimate service?

Yes. Flight couriers — also known as On-Board Couriers (OBCs) — are an established part of the time-critical logistics industry. They are commonly used when conventional shipping is too slow, for example for urgent aerospace parts, manufacturing components and certain time-sensitive medical shipments. DocumentJet makes the same type of dedicated courier service available for urgent passports and documents. DocumentJet is operated by FLYTRIX Americas LLC, an established time-critical logistics company.

Who is behind DocumentJet?

DocumentJet is a service by FLYTRIX, a time-critical logistics company with offices in the United States and Germany. FLYTRIX supports freight forwarders and logistics companies with urgent shipments, including emergency deliveries for industries such as aerospace, healthcare and manufacturing. While FLYTRIX primarily serves business customers, DocumentJet makes our dedicated flight-courier network available directly to both individuals and businesses.

Is DocumentJet affiliated with an airline, government or passport agency?

No. DocumentJet is an independent private logistics service operated by FLYTRIX Americas LLC. We are not affiliated with any airline, government agency, immigration authority or passport office. Airlines, airport operators and government authorities may still be involved in an individual delivery where required, for example when a passport needs to be handed over to immigration or border authorities at an airport.

Booking & Pricing

How does a booking work?

First, enter your pickup and delivery locations on our website to receive an instant price and estimated pickup and delivery timeframe. When you book, your payment card is initially authorized, but the payment is not captured yet. Our 24/7 Operations Center then reviews the booking, selects a suitable flight courier and identifies the best available flight itinerary. We aim to provide final confirmation, including the itinerary and final ETA, within 30 minutes. If we can perform the delivery at the originally quoted price and within the permitted delivery timeframe, your booking is confirmed and your payment is captured. If the final price is higher than originally quoted, you can either approve the additional amount or cancel the booking without charge. If the final delivery ETA is more than four hours later than the end of the originally quoted delivery window, you can likewise accept the revised itinerary or cancel without charge. If we cannot confirm the service, your card authorization will be released.

What happens if DocumentJet cannot confirm my booking?

If we cannot confirm a suitable courier and itinerary, your booking will be cancelled and your card authorization will be released. You will not be charged for a booking that DocumentJet cannot operationally confirm.

How can I pay?

You pay online by credit or debit card when you book, for example with Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Prices are shown and charged in US dollars; your card issuer may apply its own currency conversion or foreign transaction fee. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider Stripe, and your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form, so DocumentJet never receives or stores your full card number or security code. Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment, for example with 3-D Secure. At booking, the amount is only authorized on your card; it is captured once our 24/7 Operations Center confirms your shipment. You receive a payment receipt by email; if you need an invoice document, please contact us.

How fast can DocumentJet deliver my passport or document?

On the same day or by the next day — for most major international routes. For example, a document collected in Europe can often be delivered to the U.S. on the same calendar day because of the time difference, while many U.S.–Europe deliveries arrive the next day due to flight schedules and time zones. Actual delivery time depends on the pickup location, courier availability, available flights and the final handover location. Your instant quote shows an estimated pickup and delivery window before you book, and our 24/7 Operations Center confirms the final itinerary after booking.

How quickly can you pick up my document?

In many major cities, a flight courier can be at the pickup location within a few hours. The exact pickup timeframe depends on where the nearest suitable courier is located. If no courier is available nearby, we may need to position one to the pickup city by car, train or air. Your estimated pickup window is shown as part of your instant quote before booking.

Why is DocumentJet so expensive?

DocumentJet is fundamentally different from ordinary parcel or express-mail services. Your document is not routed through automated sorting centers, conveyor belts or conventional parcel networks. Instead, a dedicated human flight courier travels with your shipment on a commercial passenger flight. The price therefore includes costs such as airline tickets, ground transportation, hotels when necessary, positioning the courier to the pickup location and compensation for the dedicated courier. You are effectively booking a person to travel specifically for your urgent delivery.

Will the flight courier transport only my shipment?

Yes. The courier assigned to your DocumentJet booking is dedicated to your shipment and will not combine it with unrelated DocumentJet deliveries. This allows us to provide an exceptionally personal and closely monitored service.

Can I cancel my booking after it has been confirmed?

Before we confirm your booking, you can withdraw your booking request at any time free of charge. After confirmation, you can ask us to stop the service at any time, but the agreed price generally remains payable, less any costs we save as a result — by then flight tickets, courier arrangements and other transportation services have usually been booked. If we ask you to approve a higher price or a delivery ETA that is more than four hours later than the originally quoted delivery window, you can decline the change and cancel without charge. Any mandatory cancellation or consumer rights that apply under applicable law remain unaffected.

Service Area

Which countries does DocumentJet serve?

DocumentJet can provide services in more than 120 countries across Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East and Oceania. Availability can depend on the specific pickup and delivery locations, local regulations, flight connections and courier availability. The easiest way to check whether a route is currently supported is to enter the pickup and delivery locations into our instant quote system.

Can DocumentJet deliver within the same country?

DocumentJet is primarily an international delivery service. Domestic deliveries are currently available within the United States. Domestic deliveries within other countries are not currently available through DocumentJet. For urgent domestic transportation outside the United States, please contact FLYTRIX directly.

Where can DocumentJet pick up my document?

We can arrange pickup from most ordinary accessible locations, including private homes, hotels, offices, company premises, law firms, hospitals, airports, courier or mail facilities and other agreed locations. We can also coordinate directly with hotels, companies and other organizations when necessary. Pickup from government authorities, embassies or consulates is possible only where the relevant organization permits release of the document to our courier or another authorized person.

Where can DocumentJet deliver my document?

DocumentJet can deliver to private addresses, offices and businesses, hotels, airports, law firms, hospitals and other agreed delivery locations. At airports, delivery may sometimes be coordinated with airline representatives, airport personnel, immigration authorities or border-control authorities where necessary.

Tracking & Support

How will I be updated on the status of my delivery?

Our 24/7 Operations Center monitors every DocumentJet shipment individually. After your booking has been confirmed, you will receive the courier's confirmed flight itinerary, followed by status updates throughout the journey. Depending on the shipment, updates may include courier en route to pickup, courier arrived at pickup, document collected, courier arrived at airport, security cleared, boarded, departed, arrived, courier en route to delivery and delivered. If a flight irregularity or other unexpected delay occurs, our 24/7 Operations Center will provide updated information and a revised ETA as quickly as possible.

What happens if the courier's flight is cancelled or delayed?

Our 24/7 Operations Center monitors the courier's journey throughout the shipment. If a flight is cancelled, significantly delayed or disrupted, our team will evaluate the fastest practical alternative. This may include rebooking the courier onto another flight, changing the routing or making other operational arrangements. We will inform you of significant changes and provide an updated ETA. As with any service that relies on commercial passenger flights, DocumentJet cannot prevent airline cancellations, weather disruptions, airport closures or other circumstances outside our control. A delay alone does not entitle you to a refund; if the delivery cannot be completed, our Terms & Conditions set out what is refunded.

Can I reach DocumentJet 24/7?

Yes. Our 24/7 Operations Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including weekends and public holidays. You can reach us at +1 (424) 220-8574 or help@documentjet.com. If you already have a booking, please include your seven-digit booking reference beginning with 31. Our team can assist in English, German, Spanish, Italian and French. For email inquiries, we generally aim to respond within 15 minutes.

Will I receive the flight courier's phone number?

Normally, no. Your main point of contact is the DocumentJet 24/7 Operations Center, which coordinates directly with the courier throughout the journey. In some situations, the courier may contact you, the sender or the recipient directly, for example to coordinate an exact handover location. Please therefore be prepared to receive calls from unfamiliar or international telephone numbers. All DocumentJet flight couriers speak English, and many speak additional languages.

Will I know who my flight courier is?

Yes. After your booking is confirmed, we will provide the courier's full first and last name together with their flight itinerary or booking confirmation.

The Flight Courier

Can I trust my flight courier?

DocumentJet uses experienced flight couriers who work as independent On-Board Couriers for FLYTRIX and other time-critical logistics companies. We require previous On-Board Courier experience from couriers used for DocumentJet assignments. Many of our couriers are personally known to our 24/7 Operations Center team and regularly perform assignments for FLYTRIX. Couriers are also required to comply with our confidentiality and operational requirements.

How many flight couriers do you have, and where are they located?

FLYTRIX has access to a global network of more than 1,000 flight couriers, positioned around major international airports across Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa and Oceania. If no suitable courier is already close to your pickup location, we may first position a courier there by car, train or air. That positioning time is already taken into account when calculating your estimated pickup and delivery timeframe.

Will the same flight courier escort my document for the entire journey?

In most cases, yes. The flight courier will normally personally collect the document, travel with it and complete the final delivery. In some locations, however, local regulations or operational circumstances may require us to use a dedicated driver for the first or last part of the journey. Any handover between a flight courier, driver or other authorized service provider is documented as part of our chain-of-custody process.

Will my document travel as carry-on or checked baggage?

DocumentJet shipments are normally transported as carry-on baggage and remain under the courier's personal control during air travel. Only where necessary and permitted may a document travel in checked baggage.

Does the courier use my passport to travel?

No. The flight courier travels using their own passport and travel documents. Your passport is carried only as the item being transported and is never used by the courier for identification, immigration or travel purposes.

Passports & Authorization

Can someone else legally carry my passport?

In many countries, a passport may be transported by an authorized third party, including a courier. However, rules concerning possession and transportation of passports can differ between countries and can also depend on the passport's issuing country and the countries through which it is transported. DocumentJet only confirms bookings where the intended transportation can be performed in accordance with the applicable operational and legal requirements known to us. The courier does not use the passport for travel or identification. It is transported solely as the customer's document.

Can I book a delivery for someone else's passport?

Yes, provided that you are lawfully authorized to arrange transportation of the passport. This is common, for example, where a family member, partner, employer or assistant arranges an urgent delivery for someone who has forgotten their passport. You may be asked to confirm that the passport holder has authorized the transportation.

Do I need written authorization from the passport holder?

Depending on the circumstances and route, we may require written authorization from the passport holder before accepting the passport for transportation. The authorization confirms that DocumentJet, FLYTRIX and the assigned courier have permission to temporarily take possession of and transport the passport solely for the purpose of completing the delivery. Additional authorization may be required where the document is being collected from a hotel, company, embassy, consulate, government authority or another third party.

Airports, Hotels & Special Situations

My friend is stuck at an airport because they forgot their passport. Can you help?

In many cases, yes. During booking, select “At an airport” under “Who should receive it?” and provide information about the traveler and their situation. Depending on the airport and local procedures, we may be able to deliver the passport directly to the traveler in the public area of the terminal, behind security or in the transit area, or to an airline representative, immigration or border authorities or airport personnel. Because our courier usually arrives by air, they are already behind security when they land, which often makes a direct handover possible. Access rules vary by airport and country, so the exact handover method is determined by our Operations Center. DocumentJet provides transportation only and cannot guarantee any immigration, border-entry or airline outcome.

Can you deliver a passport directly to someone who is already in transit at an airport?

Often, yes. A courier who arrives by air lands inside the secure area and at many airports can hand the passport to a transit passenger directly. Where that is not possible, certain airports allow documents to be transferred through airline, airport, immigration or border-control personnel. Airport procedures vary, and DocumentJet cannot guarantee access to every area of every airport. Our Operations Center will determine the most appropriate handover method after reviewing the booking.

I forgot my passport, ID or driver's license at a hotel. Can you help?

Yes. We can collect documents from hotels, including from the front desk or concierge. If necessary, our Operations Center can also contact the hotel in advance to coordinate the release and pickup of the item.

Can DocumentJet collect my passport from an embassy or consulate?

Potentially, yes. We can arrange collection from an embassy, consulate or other government office if that organization permits the passport or document to be released to our courier or another authorized representative. Requirements differ between authorities. Some may require written authorization from the document holder, identification details of the courier, an appointment or another specific release procedure. If you need collection from an embassy or consulate, please include the details in your booking so our Operations Center can coordinate the handover.

Can DocumentJet help with an expedited passport application or passport renewal?

No. DocumentJet is strictly a transportation service. We transport passports that have already been issued from one location to another. We do not issue passports, expedite applications, arrange passport appointments or provide immigration or legal services. DocumentJet is not affiliated with any government passport agency.

Handover & Proof of Delivery

Who will my document be handed over to?

If you select Person as the recipient, we will normally hand the document only to the individual identified in your booking. If you want to authorize another person to receive it, please contact us before delivery. If you select Company, the shipment may be handed over to an authorized representative of that organization, such as reception, security, office or warehouse personnel. If delivery must be made to a specific individual, please tell us in advance. For hotel deliveries, please specify whether reception or concierge staff are permitted to accept the shipment. For airport deliveries, the document may be handed over to the named recipient or, where necessary and appropriate, to an airline, airport, immigration or border-control representative.

Will I receive proof of delivery?

Yes. We document the final handover. Depending on the circumstances, proof of delivery may include the recipient name, signature, photograph of the handover, delivery time and location or other confirmation appropriate to the recipient. Where lawful and appropriate, additional identity verification may be documented. If the document is handed to an authority or official representative, alternative confirmation such as the representative's name, department or badge/reference number may be recorded.

Security & Privacy

Will the flight courier open or read my documents?

For aviation security and compliance purposes, DocumentJet couriers must be able to verify what they are being asked to transport. The courier may therefore open the outer envelope or packaging and visually inspect the contents before accepting custody. The purpose of the inspection is to verify that the shipment contains only permitted documents. Our couriers are instructed to avoid unnecessarily reviewing or recording sensitive information and are subject to confidentiality requirements.

Can airport security, customs or border authorities inspect my documents?

Yes. Documents carried by a flight courier remain subject to all applicable aviation-security, customs, immigration and border-control procedures. The courier's carry-on baggage may be X-rayed, searched or manually inspected by airport security or government authorities. DocumentJet cannot prevent a competent authority from inspecting a shipment where legally permitted.

Preparing Your Shipment

How should I package my passport or documents?

A standard envelope or document envelope is normally sufficient. Please do not permanently seal or package the shipment in a way that prevents the courier from verifying the contents before accepting custody. The courier may need to inspect the contents for security and compliance purposes before the shipment begins. After inspection, the documents can be placed securely into the transport envelope or document bag used for the journey.

Can I send multiple passports or documents in one DocumentJet shipment?

Yes, provided all items are permitted documents, have the same pickup and delivery locations and remain within DocumentJet's size and weight limits. For example, several passports belonging to members of the same family can generally be transported together in one booking. You must be lawfully authorized to arrange transportation of every passport or document included in the shipment.

Are there size or weight limits?

Yes. DocumentJet shipments are limited to ordinary paper documents with a maximum of 1,000 pages, 5 kilograms total weight and A4 or US Letter size. If your shipment exceeds these limits, please contact FLYTRIX for an individual quote.

What DocumentJet Can Carry

What types of documents can DocumentJet carry?

DocumentJet's automated booking process is designed for paper documents such as passports, identity and travel documents, visa and immigration documents, court and legal documents, contracts, notarized documents, birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas and certificates, corporate documents, tender documents and other ordinary paper documents.

Can you transport original certificates, notarized documents or other irreplaceable paperwork?

Yes. DocumentJet can transport original documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas, notarized documents, legal documents and similar paperwork. These are common examples of documents for which a dedicated courier may be useful because the original physical document needs to reach another location urgently.

Why can I only book document shipments?

DocumentJet's automated booking process is specifically designed for paper documents. Goods and merchandise can involve customs declarations, import duties, export controls, commercial-value documentation and other requirements that cannot always be verified through DocumentJet's automated checkout process. For urgent shipments containing anything other than permitted documents, please contact FLYTRIX for a customized time-critical logistics quote.

Why can't I send cash, jewelry or other valuables?

Cash, jewelry, merchandise and other valuables are not accepted through DocumentJet. These items may involve customs value, import and export declarations, security restrictions, insurance requirements and other trade-compliance obligations. DocumentJet's online booking process is specifically designed for documents without ordinary commercial merchandise value. If you need an urgent courier for goods or other items, please contact FLYTRIX directly.

Working With DocumentJet

How can I become a DocumentJet flight courier?

Flight couriers are also known as On-Board Couriers (OBCs). They operate internationally as independent contractors and, depending on their country of residence, may need their own business registration or other authorization to provide courier services. For DocumentJet assignments, we require previous On-Board Courier experience, substantial international travel experience and the legal ability to provide services as an independent contractor. You can apply to join the On-Board Courier network through FLYTRIX.
