A court document courier for filings, exhibits and originals that must be produced in person
DocumentJet carries court documents and original exhibits internationally by dedicated courier and hands them to counsel, a registrar, a tribunal secretariat or another named person, with each handover recorded. The courier delivers; filing, service and anything requiring a licensed person stay with your local counsel. Delivery is planned against court and registry hours, not the calendar day.
To counsel or to the counter
Delivery to your local counsel's office, a registry, a tribunal secretariat or a specific clerk, as you instruct in the booking.
Planned against opening hours
The delivery window is shown in local time before you book. Check it against when the registry actually receives documents.
Every handover on record
Collection, any driver leg and the final delivery are recorded with names and times. Handover to a court official carries their name and reference.
Courts are the last large institutions that still insist on paper, and they do so on their own schedule. An exhibit that must be the original, a bundle the registry wants in hard copy, a signed affidavit sworn abroad and needed at a hearing tomorrow: these move between jurisdictions on deadlines set by procedural rules, and the rules do not extend because a parcel network had a bad night.
A dedicated courier does not change the rules either. What it changes is that the bundle is in one person's hands from your office to the counter, and that you know where that person is at any moment.
What a courier can and cannot do at a court
The courier can carry the documents to the building and hand them to a named person who is entitled to receive them: your instructing solicitor or local counsel, a clerk, a registrar's office that accepts hand deliveries, a tribunal's secretariat. The handover is recorded with the receiving person's name and, for officials, their department and reference.
The courier cannot file. In most jurisdictions lodging a document with a court is an act of the party or its licensed representative, and a registry will not accept it from a stranger with an envelope, or will accept it as mail and treat it accordingly. The dependable pattern is therefore: courier to local counsel, counsel to the court. If time is too short for that, ask counsel whether the registry will accept a hand delivery from a courier acting on their written instruction, and give us that instruction to carry. Some will; many will not; we would rather you find out from them than from us at the counter.

Timing against a hearing
01
Find the real cutoff
Registry counters close early, often mid-afternoon, and some accept filings only at set hours. A hearing at 10 am may mean the bundle has to be lodged the day before. Get the last acceptable time from local counsel.
02
Read the delivery window in local time
Enter your address and counsel's. The window shown is in the destination's time zone. Westbound across the Atlantic a morning pickup usually delivers the same evening; eastbound it is the next morning. If the window ends after the cutoff, send a day earlier or the courier is not your answer.
03
Give the courier a person, not a building
Counsel's name and direct number, and whether their reception may sign. A courthouse address with no name is the one instruction that reliably ends in a mailroom.
04
Confirm within the half hour
Operations confirms the courier and flights within about 30 minutes and you receive the itinerary. If the confirmed arrival is more than four hours after the window you saw, or the price is higher, you can cancel free. That is the moment to compare the arrival with the registry's hours one more time.
Confidentiality and inspection
Couriers accept our confidentiality requirements before any assignment. At collection they may open the envelope to confirm it contains paper documents and nothing else, because a person carrying a package through an airport checkpoint must know what it is; if they do, they are instructed not to read beyond that. Sealed inner folders are fine and recommended for privileged material. Airport security and border officers may open anything in carry-on; that applies to a courier exactly as it would to you, and no courier can prevent a lawful inspection.
The plain limits
Transport and handover only. No filing, no service of process, no legal advice on whether a court will accept what we carry. If you need the document filed on arrival, name the person who will file it as the recipient. If the document needs an apostille, a translation or a notarization first, that has to happen before the courier arrives.
Questions people ask about this
Who will my document be handed over to?
If you select Person as the recipient, we will normally hand the document only to the individual identified in your booking. If you want to authorize another person to receive it, please contact us before delivery. If you select Company, the shipment may be handed over to an authorized representative of that organization, such as reception, security, office or warehouse personnel. If delivery must be made to a specific individual, please tell us in advance. For hotel deliveries, please specify whether reception or concierge staff are permitted to accept the shipment. For airport deliveries, the document may be handed over to the named recipient or, where necessary and appropriate, to an airline, airport, immigration or border-control representative.
Will I receive proof of delivery?
Yes. We document the final handover. Depending on the circumstances, proof of delivery may include the recipient name, signature, photograph of the handover, delivery time and location or other confirmation appropriate to the recipient. Where lawful and appropriate, additional identity verification may be documented. If the document is handed to an authority or official representative, alternative confirmation such as the representative's name, department or badge/reference number may be recorded.
Will the flight courier open or read my documents?
For aviation security and compliance purposes, DocumentJet couriers must be able to verify what they are being asked to transport. The courier may therefore open the outer envelope or packaging and visually inspect the contents before accepting custody. The purpose of the inspection is to verify that the shipment contains only permitted documents. Our couriers are instructed to avoid unnecessarily reviewing or recording sensitive information and are subject to confidentiality requirements.
How fast can DocumentJet deliver my passport or document?
On the same day or by the next day — for most major international routes. For example, a document collected in Europe can often be delivered to the U.S. on the same calendar day because of the time difference, while many U.S.–Europe deliveries arrive the next day due to flight schedules and time zones. Actual delivery time depends on the pickup location, courier availability, available flights and the final handover location. Your instant quote shows an estimated pickup and delivery window before you book, and our 24/7 Operations Center confirms the final itinerary after booking.
