Urgent document delivery when a scan will not do and express mail is too slow
DocumentJet carries urgent original documents internationally with a dedicated flight courier: collected in person, flown as carry-on, handed over to a named recipient, usually the same day or the next. It is for the cases where a scan is not accepted and a two-day express envelope is a gamble you cannot take. It costs about as much as flying someone there, because that is what it is.
Never in a sorting hub
The envelope goes from the sender's hand to the courier's carry-on to the recipient's hand. No conveyor, no consolidation, no overnight in a depot.
One shipment per courier
The courier assigned to your booking carries your documents and nothing else. That is why every status update is about your envelope specifically.
Windows shown, then confirmed
Pickup and delivery windows appear with the price before you book. Operations confirms the actual flight within about 30 minutes; only then is your card charged.
Most documents no longer need to travel. A PDF is fine for a draft, a signature can be electronic, a certified copy can be emailed to be followed by the original at leisure. The ones that still have to move physically, and fast, are a narrow category: the wet-ink original a court or registry insists on, the notarized power of attorney a bank needs on its desk before it releases funds, the tender that has to be in a sealed envelope at a given address by noon, the passport with the visa in it.
For those, the choice is between a global express network and a person. This page is about the person, and about being straight on when the network is the better buy.
Express mail or a courier: an honest comparison
The express networks are excellent at what they do. The question is whether what they do fits your deadline and your document.
International express mail
When: You have two or more working days, the document is replaceable, and a delay of a day would be annoying rather than damaging.
Typically one to three business days between major cities, tracked at each scan point, priced in the tens or low hundreds of dollars. The envelope is sorted by machine, consolidated with thousands of others, flown as cargo and delivered on a route. Customs holds on documents are rare but happen. Weekend and holiday gaps are real. For most paperwork this is the right choice and we would not talk you out of it.
A dedicated flight courier
When: The deadline is today or tomorrow, the original is irreplaceable or the consequence of a miss is measured in thousands, and you need to know where it is at every step.
Same day or next day on most international routes, one named person carrying it, status updates from pickup to handover, and a documented delivery to a named recipient. Priced like a short-notice flight plus a person's time: usually USD $2,000 to $5,000. Nothing about it is cheap, and for the right document it is the only thing that works.
What counts as a document here
DocumentJet's booking is built for paper and nothing else. That keeps customs out of the picture and lets us confirm a route in minutes.
Passports, identity cards and travel documents; visa and immigration paperwork.
Court filings, pleadings, judgments, notarized and apostilled documents, powers of attorney.
Signed contracts and closing sets, tender and bid documents, corporate records, board resolutions.
Birth, marriage and death certificates, diplomas, transcripts and other certificates.
Up to 1,000 pages, 5 kg, A4 or US Letter. Several documents to the same recipient can travel in one booking.
Price and pickup and delivery windows in seconds. No account.
Instant price. Instant ETA. Book online.
What cannot come along, and why
Anything with commercial value: goods, samples, electronics, jewelry, cash, medication, data carriers with anything on them. Not because a courier could not carry a USB stick, but because the moment a shipment has customs value it needs declarations, duties and export checks that an automated booking cannot verify. The same goes for classified or export-controlled material. If you have an urgent shipment that is not plain paper, FLYTRIX, the company behind DocumentJet, quotes those individually; the booking form is not the way in.
From booking to handover
01
Quote
Two addresses in, a price and two time windows out. The pickup window is in the sender's local time, the delivery window in the recipient's. No account, no call-back.
02
Book
You give us the sender, the recipient and who is paying. Your card is authorized for the amount but not charged.
03
Confirm
Operations selects the courier and the flights, normally within 30 minutes, and lets you know the courier's name and the itinerary. Now the payment is captured. If the flights cost more than the estimate assumed, or arrive more than four hours later than the window you saw, you are asked first and can cancel free of charge.
04
Collect
The courier arrives in the pickup window, may open the envelope to confirm it holds documents only, and takes it into their carry-on. You receive "collected".
05
Fly
Carry-on, cabin, the courier's seat. Updates as the courier passes security, boards, departs, lands. If a flight is cancelled, operations rebooks and sends a revised time.
06
Deliver
Hand to hand with the recipient you named, or to the representative you approved. Name, time, place and a signature or photo come back to you as proof of delivery.
Preparing the envelope
Use a normal envelope or document sleeve and leave it so the courier can look inside. The courier may check the contents at pickup, because anything carried through an airport checkpoint has to be known to the person carrying it, and couriers are instructed to confirm the contents and no more. After that the documents travel in the courier's carry-on for the journey. If confidentiality is a concern, put the papers in an inner folder the courier can see is paper without reading it; the outer envelope may be opened either way.
Include a cover sheet with the recipient's name and phone number even though we have them; it saves a call if the recipient's office has a reception that handles deliveries.
Questions people ask about this
What types of documents can DocumentJet carry?
DocumentJet's automated booking process is designed for paper documents such as passports, identity and travel documents, visa and immigration documents, court and legal documents, contracts, notarized documents, birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas and certificates, corporate documents, tender documents and other ordinary paper documents.
Why can I only book document shipments?
DocumentJet's automated booking process is specifically designed for paper documents. Goods and merchandise can involve customs declarations, import duties, export controls, commercial-value documentation and other requirements that cannot always be verified through DocumentJet's automated checkout process. For urgent shipments containing anything other than permitted documents, please contact FLYTRIX for a customized time-critical logistics quote.
Are there size or weight limits?
Yes. DocumentJet shipments are limited to ordinary paper documents with a maximum of 1,000 pages, 5 kilograms total weight and A4 or US Letter size. If your shipment exceeds these limits, please contact FLYTRIX for an individual quote.
How will I be updated on the status of my delivery?
Our 24/7 Operations Center monitors every DocumentJet shipment individually. After your booking has been confirmed, you will receive the courier's confirmed flight itinerary, followed by status updates throughout the journey. Depending on the shipment, updates may include courier en route to pickup, courier arrived at pickup, document collected, courier arrived at airport, security cleared, boarded, departed, arrived, courier en route to delivery and delivered. If a flight irregularity or other unexpected delay occurs, our 24/7 Operations Center will provide updated information and a revised ETA as quickly as possible.
Why is DocumentJet so expensive?
DocumentJet is fundamentally different from ordinary parcel or express-mail services. Your document is not routed through automated sorting centers, conveyor belts or conventional parcel networks. Instead, a dedicated human flight courier travels with your shipment on a commercial passenger flight. The price therefore includes costs such as airline tickets, ground transportation, hotels when necessary, positioning the courier to the pickup location and compensation for the dedicated courier. You are effectively booking a person to travel specifically for your urgent delivery.
